What is IBDP ?
IBDP stands for International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It’s a two-year educational pre-university rigorous program for students aged 16-19, focusing on intellectual, emotional, and social development.
Diploma Programme curriculum Framework
IBDP courses are categorized into six groups. Students must select at least one subject from Groups 1-5, while Group 6 is optional. If Group 6 is not chosen, an additional subject from Groups 3 or 4 can be selected, totaling six subjects.

Besides these 6 courses, every student opting for Diploma programme must do the following core elements of IBDP:
One of the core elements of IB Diploma Programmee. ToK is a course which is purely inter-disciplinary in nature and focuses on the nature and process of acquiring knowledge rather than on knowledge itself. It allows students to critically think about the reliability and validity of a knowledge using their Research and Critical thinking skills.
It is one of the core elements of IB Diploma programme and school must devote minimum 100 hours in teaching.
ToK Exhibition: Towards the end of the first year of Diploma Programme students need to present ToK Exhibition. Out of 10 Marks, ToK Exhibition counts for 33% of the total scores in ToK.
Total 8 hours of teaching is dedicated in preparing students for ToK exhibition.
During the second year of Diploma, students write an essay based on one of the Six Prescribed Titles, released by IB usually in September. The essay is written within a word limit of 1600. Out of a total of 10 marks, ToK Essay contributes 67% towards the total ToK score.
Total 10 hours of teaching is dedicated in preparing students for ToK Essay.
Extended Essay is an independent research work created by a student under the supervision of a subject-specific supervisor. It is a 4000 word essay written in a subject of student’s choice and strength.
It uses and strengthens students’ Research, Communication and Critical thinking skills
Extended Essay is externally moderated by an examiner, whereby a student is graded from A to E.
CAS is a core element of IB Diploma programme which instill empathy, sense of responsibility towards the immediate and global community through experiential skills.
Every student must meet seven prescribed learning outcome and complete two CAS projects during the two year Diploma programme. CAS is not graded internally or externally but its completion is one of the essential requirements to receive Diploma.
