The Middle Years Programme (MYP)

At Velammal Global School (VGS), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) engages students aged 11 to 16 (Grades 6–10) in a dynamic learning journey that blends subject-specific rigor with interdisciplinary connections. Each year, students participate in at least one Interdisciplinary Unit (IDU), where knowledge and skills from different subjects come together to deepen conceptual understanding and encourage creative problem-solving. Alongside this, students cultivate their own approaches to learning, engage in service as action, and strengthen their appreciation of diverse perspectives. Rooted in the IB learner profile, the MYP at VGS nurtures international mindedness—helping students recognize their role in a global society and preparing them to become thoughtful, responsible, and compassionate world citizens.
